Our New Fishing Hut has been built ready for our 2024 Season.
Overall a superb season for us so far. Our catch total being 55 Salmon and 29 Sea Trout.
No serious rain for sometime is making Salmon & Sea trout fishing very difficult at this time. Rivers are low and water temps are increasingly high. Lets pray for rain soon for the fishes sake!!
Tim Kelly decided to book one of our Introduction courses for Fly Fishing and told us his target Species was Sea Trout. After numerous emails back and forward, Tim had booked the evening with us and I had booked the Stretch on the River Till, this time booking Upper Tindle which is part of Ford & Etal Estates.
Made up of Six Members for the first season starting next year, 2024 paying an annual subscription. They will have access to our stretch on the Whiteadder first of all, for so many days per season.
Over the last six years, May has always been a great month to target the last of the Spring Salmon. If we have a good April on the Whiteadder, and good numbers of fish are in the system and we get rain early May this can provide incredible Sport.
The pressure was off and he was smiling from ear to ear and so was I, Its always a special moment to share when someone catches there first Salmon on the fly. Massive congrats Simon!
March & April is always a very exciting time on the River Whiteadder. Especially when Big Spring Tides coincide with good water levels. It can provide incredible fishing and this is exactly what happened!
When I was given the chance to head to the west coast of America to swing for Winter Steelhead which would be fresh out of the Pacific Ocean I couldn’t turn the chance down!! I always say, that a Salmon is a fish of 10,000 casts!! A steelhead on a swung fly would probably be a bit more difficult, maybe a fish of 100,000 casts!!
Well what can I say, after big spring tides and a rise in water levels I was determined to try and catch that elusive February Spring Salmon on our stretch of the Whiteadder.
