A Superb Start to our Spring Salmon Season…..

After two months of solid guiding, 6 day weeks with very littler sleep I thought it would be a good time to update my website with a new Blog for the last six weeks of fishing since returning from America. It certainly has been incredible.

We have been fully booked for all of March & April. Welcoming new faces onto the river and also returning clients back to fish with us.  A few corporate days thrown in between group bookings and also a few single rods taking advantage of our Salmon Fly fishing Introduction Days.

March & April is always a very exciting time on the River Whiteadder. Especially when Big Spring Tides coincide with good water levels. It can provide incredible fishing and this is exactly what happened!

Landing some incredible fish, 90% of the fish were Sea liced/fresh from the Sea. As always we target these on single handed fly rods, our go to setups are Sage 10ft 8weights matched with the new RIO single handed trout spey lines. These lines perform incredible on small spate rivers when your wanting to turn large tube flies over with very little room behind you. We fish these lines with RIO 10ft versi-leaders in 3inch and 1.5inch sink rates. Certainly a winning combo for tackling Spring salmon.

A selection of our catches so far this season are attached below. We managed to get five Clients there first ever Salmon on the Fly and one Special Fish which was Landed last weekend by a great client of ours. We will be posting a separate blog for this incredible capture shortly.
