Well the 2023 Season is underway here with Chasing Fins and we are very excited for the season ahead, welcoming very well known faces back onto the river bank but also like most seasons, welcoming new faces along too. We have finished all the bank work on our stretch of the Whiteadder and welcomed a few clients onto the river since opening day.
No fish to report yet with low levels of water but once we get a good lift that should bring a few spring fish into the Whiteadder System. So far iv heard of Eight fresh fish on the tweed being caught so fish are moving through the system. One fish was reported below St Boswells which is great news considering how far up the river it has travelled.
With regards to bookings for this season, as normal we are looking at a fully booked Spring March April and May into June. We do have a few days left in June so if you wish to experience some incredible Spring Salmon fishing on Single Handed Fly Rods please contact us via our website form or send an email too: James@chasingfins.co.uk
We have a few trips organised for clients in August and September but do have some prime dates left for Sea Trout Fishing in July and some great dates for Autumn Salmon Fishing.
At the time of writing this, I have just returned from taking our Son Hugo for a taster of Fly Fishing and he did incredibly well landing a big Brown Trout and a few Big Rainbows. Hopefully we can get him a Salmon before he turns four. That’s my goal! He was certainly eager and very excited to carry on!!! A few pictures below show his catch. Well done Hugo.
Early March sees us head over to Oregon in the USA to host a steelhead Fishing Trip for some good friends & clients of Chasing Fins. We will update our website with a blog once we have returned and hopefully the Spring Salmon will be arriving in good numbers by then.
Watch this Space…..
Tightlines to all our Clients & Friends over the next few months. Hopefully this Spring is one to remember- James Armstrong, Chasing Fins
